I’m really impressed with the seamless way the writers showed the racial lens through which regular in-universe civilians saw Sam Wilson AKA Captain America. After the saves a family, a man says that’s not my Captain America and gets scolded by a woman for being a jerk. When girl scouts ask Sam to buy their cookies and he only has enough money to buy one box, the situation turns into a social media circus with someone later saying in between the lines that of course he would of chosen the black girl scout to buy cookies from. When Tony Stark compliments Sam for doing well with all the cameras, Sam actually comes out and says he wished everything he did wasn’t a race thing. I just love everything about this scene and all the different nuances.
