Every time I watch Clark blinking out the beer in that fourth gif, and the way he just calmly lifts up his face and we get a flash of blue fire in those eyes — I just can’t help but flinch a bit.
Because Clark is fucking terrifying, and this asshole simply doesn’t have a fucking clue about who he’s dealing with and there’s a split second where I actually feared for him.
If Clark really wants to, there’s absolutely nothing to stop him from doing something that would put such terror in this guy that he wouldn’t dare to have even another single thought of disrespecting women for the rest of his life.
Not only Clark doesn’t lay a finger on him, he shuts his words and walks away. His act of retribution is done in silence. If Clark would risk exposure for saving strangers, then showing off to this asshole while he destroys the truck and make the lesson stick — is really nothing at all.
But Clark is still a jerk anyway, apparently on the same level as this bully, because he eventually destroys his truck for “petty revenge”? Oh the poor scumbag, his truck gone now, it totally means that he’s going to be out of work and his whole life ruined.
How specious. How about we think of all the people he wouldn’t have time to bully and harass now, because he’s going to spend most of the time in the near future finishing up insurance paperwork and looking for a new job instead?
How about that?
this falls under the category of reblog forever. my favourite scene in the film.
lina, you are in this fandom’s hall of fame. bless you.
I like how there are people that think destroying Ludlow’s truck is “whoa too far” for his sexual harassment/assault of Chrissy. I personally think it’s poetic justice considering he put Chrissy’s job AND SAFETY at risk. Her boss didn’t come to her aid and every other man in the bar stood by laughing. Shouldn’t the LEAST punishment for sexual harassment/assault be loss of employment?
Anyway, thank you shards.
