Okay guys, let’s talk age.

People who criticize DameRey claim that the age between Poe and Rey is too much of a difference and kind of creepy.

Before I get into that, let me preface this with the fact that my husband and I have been together for 3+ years and there’s a ten year age gap between us. So age doesn’t bother me personally.

Each major relationship in each Star Wars trilogy has had an age gap.

Han is 11 years older than Leia
Padme is 5 years older than Anikan
Poe is 10-11 years older than Rey

Does this prove damerey is canon? Absolutely not. But it shows a pattern. Not only that, but it shows that age in this series doesn’t particularly matter. When romance is involved, everyone has been consenting.

And that’s what counts!
