“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not.”
”Can a man still be brave if he’s afraid?”
”Fear cuts deeper than swords.”
”Some old wounds never truly heal, and bleed again at the slightest word.”
”When you play a game of thrones you win or you die.”
”Most men would rather deny a hard truth than face it.”
“The things we love destroy us every time.”
”Nothing burns like the cold.”
”Laughter is poison to fear.”
”Give me honourable enemies rather than ambitious ones, and I’ll sleep more easily by night.”
”Once you’ve accepted your flaws, no one can use them against you.”
”A bruise is a lesson… and each lesson makes us better.”
”The man who fears losing has already lost.”
”A lord must learn that sometimes words can accomplish what swords cannot.”
”The heart lies and the head plays tricks with us, but the eyes see true.”
”A true man does what he will, not what he must.”
”A ruler who hides behind paid executioners soon forgets what death is.”
”Minds are like swords; the old ones go to rust.”
”He was no dragon. Fire cannot kill a dragon.”
”Only a man who’s been burned knows what hell is truly like.”
”Do the dead frighten you?”
”In life, the monsters win.”
”Everyone who isn’t us is an enemy.”
”There are things to be learned even from the dead.”
”A lion doesn’t concern itself with the opinion of sheep.”
”How do you fight someone if you can’t hit them?”
”A man who sees nothing has no use for his eyes.”
”We have won a battle, not a war”
”Poison is a coward’s weapon.”

Just as they spoke rumors of Domeric Bolton, quiet but lovely. He has this shyness to him but his looks would engulf them. How can any lady not wish to speak to the man of the Dreadfort? He’s gorgeous. His eyes capture her and they are only in mid conversation. Those curls, the need to run her finger through them, to feel how silky they seem. She found herself a bit lost in him, before taking charge of the conversation–almost forgetting there was one.

“Please, call me Margaery. No need for formal titles.” She took a moment before responding once more. “The south is indeed different from the north. We have our rich blossoming lands, the sun is always visible, warming to the touch. Our garden in its vast amount of colors. Yet the north has its qualities too. It’s quiet, I could read for days. The cool air that kisses upon one’s nose when the sun rises. How the snow sparkles at the light. There’s something pure about this place, something that hasn’t been touched or ruined by mankind. An easy place to hide from bothering some responsibilities.” She meant more of herself. Sometimes she wishes she could just runaway from it all. Be the child and have the fun she once had.

But this is a game, and to rise to the top meant she could do anything. She cares too much for others, before herself, even if it seems like she’s beyond selfish. “I’m beyond thankful she did. To miss such beauty, to be in your presence–to never know what it would be like out here, so far away from home? I feel as if everyone should see the world. We’re all so different in so many ways.” A light giggle.

“What do you enjoy to do, my lord? Even if you were just a squire, I’m sure you enjoyed many things that brought it on. Let’s find us a place where we can talk, and not be bothered by these adults.” More so the parents of them.

“Margaery.” Domeric confirmed, letting it go off his tongue sans her tittle. “Sooner or later it’ll all get touched by man in some fashion.” He hated to think about areas like she was describing being taken over by mans greed but he knew it would happen. Even past the wall there were wildlings who inhabited places no one would ever think to.

“You could see it all if you wanted to Lad-Margaery. There’s no rules really to hold you back. You don’t seem like the type to follow all the rules, forgive me if i’m being too forward.” Domeric despite his Lordly upbringing wasn’t the best when it came to talking to women and conversing with other nobles and he was afraid it would show. “Reading for the most part. Or studying plant life. I had a small journal with different plants and their healing properties. Came in handy a few times on the road.” Bringing up the plants brought a smile to his face. “In another life I like to think I was or should be a Maester.” A gentle laugh came fourth as he spoke, offering her his arm as they went to a far off location to be free from prying eyes and ears.

He found himself lucky to be speaking to the Lady of Highgarden, they whole family was beautiful and he would be overjoyed if he could partake in being apart of that family. Wishing for a moment that he could have been from a House that wasn’t associated with flaying a man. The idea in of itself made his nauseous. How his father seemed okay with such things was beyond the gentle kind nature of Domeric.
