“kylo TRICKED rey into coming to the supremacy by preying on her loneliness”

pump the brakes and shift into reverse could we maybe stop acting like rey is a dumbass and kylo is machiavellian? she went to the fucking supremacy because she wanted to try and save someone who she felt had been wronged and regardless as to whether or not kylo deserved it rey went because she’s a gOOD PERSON

Wait weren’t they her shitty parents in Matilda?

Yep! It was right after filming it, actually.

What’s even better is that Maras mother LOVED the book Matilda. She loved it so much that she got her daughter the part, however she died before she got to see it. Or so Mara thought. Apparently just a few weeks before she died Danny Devito went in to the hospital with a rough first edit of the movie and got to let her watch it before she passed.

Awwwww

DANNY DEVITO IS THE BEST OMG

You Only Have To Look

The Gods never left us.

Ra is the prickle in the skin of the reveller on a sun-kissed day, warming them inside and out.

Set is the roaring in the heart of every rioter, whose eyes are opened by the unrelenting fire He burns in their belly.

Thoth is the yearning for knowledge that drives the academic to follow their dreams, pushing them to greater heights.

Sobek is the promise of self-confidence, beckoning the shy ones from their shells, His hand guiding them to being their best selves.

Nut is the unspoken connection between lovers as they sit beneath star-spangled sky, Her embrace lulling them closer.

Sekhmet is the guttural roar in the throat of the blood-soaked warrior who defends what is rightfully theirs, fearsome and strong.

Geb is the whistle in the wind that rustles the hair of the gardener who plows His land and enjoys the spoils of His soil.

Hathor is the maternal love between newborn and parent, Her lips the gentle kisses full of tearful joy that make life so precious.

Ma’at is the courage that spurs the journalist to give justice to those who are otherwise denied, and to expose isfet without fear when they see it.

Anubis is the urge to protect those who are dearest, and to guide them to a life of grace and blessings.

They say the Gods are gone, forgotten, and a world away.

But they are here; you only have to look for them.

Y’know when people use the Tolkien quote “Not all those who wander are lost” as inspirational.. It’s just.. That line was referring to Sauron’s evil servants being around in Middle Earth.. Not about your boho journey to South Cali in a rented minivan..

I don’t know where, when, or how OP pulled this from the depths of their asshole and decided to splatter it across the internet as Fact, and I really don’t care, because this is the full poem.

All that is gold does not glitter/Not all those who wander are lost/The old that is strong does not wither/Deep roots are not reached by the frost/From the ashes a fire shall be woken/Alight from the shadows shall spring/Renewed shall be blade that was broken/The crownless again shall be king.

In text, Bilbo fucking Baggins wrote that poem for Aragorn and the Rangers, who don’t have homes and wander around the West of Middle Earth generally being badass and saving people and protecting the good left in the world.

It’s not about the servants of Sauron. It’s not even close to being about Sauron. Go home, you’re drunk.

I was trying very hard to not be pissed off that the cross guy Greg Zanis put up 17 crosses to represent the victims who were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and was about to post a pissed off post about Christian normativity with a link to Zanis’s outreach (since Columbine, he has built crosses for mass shooting victims and then installed them at the location of the rampage after driving from his home in Illinois).

But then I found this tweet with these images.

He nailed Stars of David on the crosses, apparently after finding out that five of sutdents and one of the teachers murdered were Jewish. To make sure they were representated accurately and respectfully.

What does it say that I am truly shocked someone took the time and had this kind of compassion.

thank g-d.

That’s…genuinely beautiful and not something I expected to see. I don’t blame people who default to a cross as a memorial (odds are still in the US it will be accurate), but when he’s given the information, to actually go back and make it right in honor of the fallen? That’s pretty special. Good for him, and what a wonderful tribute.
