“I also know that I cannot depend on a single promise you give me, which, in my limited experience, is not the best thing to start a marriage upon.” Relena raised an eyebrow, as she listened to Visery’s words. “And here I thought I had a talent for painting grim pictures.”
“Relena…” Viserys started his voice going soft until he got frustrated by her words. The words he wanted to say got stuck, unable to com fourth and he found himself staring at her for a moment until he tossed what words he wanted to say out the window. “What would you have me do? Or say? Shall I never speak a word to you so you can be content on a grand marriage? One that’s deprived of lies and promises? They are and can be different if they come from a person who means what they say!”
“I doubt either of those options will lead to a happy and content marriage, isn’t there are middle ground? But then again, after your previous statement it will become quite hard to believe a single word you say.”
“At least with one you will never be worried about what i’m doing or who I am.” He pointed out. “Promises can only lead to so much, it’s your actions that prove the words correct or not. Wouldn’t you agree? For instance; You promise people things and you give it to them and thus are loved, if you do not, they will hate you and will rise against you.”
“Still, that does not make your words any more reassuring, to be quite frank with you.”
“What would you rather me say, Relena, if I may be as frank? Should I woe you with empty promises and fake tells of my life or would you rather the honest truth?”
“It is not for you to tell me what I cannot do.” “When soldiers lack discipline, the fault lies with their lord commander.” “Men call me…often.” “Go to sleep, sweetling.” “Who’d want to kill the likes of you?” “If I die, weep for me.” “Always follow a big man into battle.” “You appear to be wounded.” “Best go don your armor.” “The dead will dance here this night.” “As we sin, so do we suffer.” “They don’t fight very well.” “You must put these dreams aside, they will only break your heart.” “The man who trusts in spells is dueling with a glass sword.” “There are no heroes.” “In life, the monsters win.” “If I look back I am lost.” “When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.” “When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves.” “This was no god’s work.” “That is a grim, unlucky place.” “I see you have taken a few lessons from me.” “I said the words and I meant them.” “The hard truths are the ones to hold tight.” “Do you think I love him any less than you?” “You do not have the words to make a spell, nor the wisdom to find them.” “I will not watch you burn.” “I vow to serve you, to obey you, to die for you if need be.” “Is it so far from madness to wisdom?” “Only death can pay for life.” “The fire is mine.”
