“You could, so easily. Just say the words and it’s done.” Viserys had to admit the girl had guts, she was indeed raised by the Stannis Baratheon. He chuckled as she mentioned the word friends and how they were loyal friends. “They are loyal to the claimant on the throne. Using a young child. Weak and bendable to their manipulations.”
Viserys knew the game of thrones well. A child could be easily thrown into a power position but the King (Or Queen in this case) is just another pawn being moved into place until a better move can be made. Viserys noted the hint of fear that she tried to not show when she asked about the dragon.
“I could. But you are a child. No child deserves to die like that. Not in a brutal and horrific way.” His memory flashed back to the night of the rebellion, when it came to Elia Martell and her children…Aegon, just a babe. “I’ll spare you the mercy your kin did not spare mine, Lady Shireen.” Feet edged closer to the woman, eyeing her as he did so.
“You. You will be a ward. Perhaps married off to the lowest of high lords when you are of age, a Frey should do quiet nicely don’t you think?” Viserys had no intention on killing the young girl, not yet at least, but he reviled in knowing this Queen was just as she presented. A scared child playing pretend.
“But- other’s in your court may not be so lucky to find such luck. Rhaellion has been quiet ravenous as of late.” He stated quickly as he eyed the men around her, they too looked frightened by the thought of a dragon being on top of where they stood. “A war, is something I don’t believe your forces can handle, forgive me if i’m ill-informed but…if you went to war against my sister and I, we’d have quite the advantage, even without the dragons.” He’d been told of the wars fought in recent years, the civil war amongst the lords of Westeros.
“I seem to have passed all the servants.” Viserys replied, thinking back on the day and somehow he managed to miss…”Oh, Oh! Tomas. He said something about the throne room but the boy has such a speech impediment…” Viserys recalled, dawning on him that was what the boy had been trying to inform him about. Viserys noticed how she hadn’t answered his question, only answering with one of her own. Typical poltical behavior, one he could play just as well. “Relena.” Viserys began, his own voice stern as he approached her. “You’re with child aren’t you?” His voice softened as he looked at her form. She was…wasn’t she? The odd nights of her coming and going from the bed and sleeping far from even the middle of the bed.
“Our child. You-” He could hear his voice crack at the idea…the reality of what she was carrying and he felt tears sting his eyes. “I’m-i’m going to be a father…Y-You, a mother…Relena!” He exclaimed her name, as he reached for her, attempting to pick her up in a hug and spin her around happily.
“Why…why didn’t you tell me when you found out? How long have you known-” Viserys sighed a dismissive ‘ahck’ and shook his head. “It matters not. What matters is you. You and our babe.”
“Good that you have heard about it then, would have been quite strange if the king wasn’t at an assembly of the entire court.” Well, apparently she wasn’t as good at hiding her pregnancy as she had believed, if it just took witnessing her sickness once to tip Viserys of. “Has nobody ever told you that it is rude to ask a lady if she is pregnant?”, the queen wondered out loud, slightly raising an eyebrow as she looked at her husband. “Imagine how mad I would have to be if I wasn’t.”, was all Relena said to confirm his assumption.
“No! Stop!”, the dark haired girl almost screamed when she felt him trying to pick her up. Relena already felt sick enough and this certainly wouldn’t make it any better. “We both have to be in the throne room soon, to announce the news to the court and I would prefer to do that without strange stains on our clothes.”, the young stag mumbled, as she turned away from her husband to walk towards her vanity. With child or not, she would certainly not allow the court to see their queen sickly or imperfect, as a child she was hidden away when an illness took its toll on her, but now that she wore the crown that was no option, just because she was carrying the next heir, didn’t mean she would start ignoring her duties.
“A fortnight after our wedding.”, Relena answered Visery’s questioned, even after hearing that it didn’t matter. “But till today chances were rather high that things wouldn’t turn out the way they are ought to be. And since it wasn’t visible until now there was no need to let anyone know.”
He pulled back immediately as she screamed her disapproval and he frowned but understood it may not be the best idea considering she’d just gotten done with her pregnancy symptoms.
“You should have let me know…I-I mean I understand waiting till you knew the babe would stay-” he recalled how his own mother had waited to announce Daenerys growing in her womb.
He straightened his clothing as he watched her go to the vanity and tried to stop grinning. He never thought he could be any happier and he wanted to know how Daenerys felt when she was with child…if she was happy or not. Sje seemed to be as he ate the horses heart, as she threatened him while carrying Khal Drogo’s child. Was Relena happy? Other than just a way to secure her position as Queen? “Are you happy? Truly happy, other than duty and security.” He asked.
“I will be here for you, whatever you need…and Dany, I’m sure she’ll be more than happy to help you out.”
Viserys accompanied Relena to the Throne room, seeing the court keeping a straight face as Relena sat on the Throne and he stood beside her.
Relena had been warned of the pain childbirth would bring, and she had been warned of the discomfort it would bring to carry a child beneath your heart, but she had no idea how horrid the sickness would be. How she was supposed to keep up a healthy weight, when it seemed impossible to keep down any food. The young queen let out a groan, upon hearing her husband’s voice, she would have much rather seen one of her ladies of a maid.
“What are you doing here?”, Relena questioned, as she slowly got up. “Haven’t you heard? The court is it assumable in the throne room, I just send out several servants to make the order known.”, she informed Viserys. It had been several moons since their wedding night, and shortly after Maestr Pycella had proudly informed her that she was with child and quite honestly, Relena was almost impressed that the old fool had kept it to himself for so long, what the threat of the black cells could accomplish. But the queen’s had recently began showing, so far she had managed to hide her belly with the cut of her gowns but it became more and more difficult, and she had to order new corsets every month, it was about time to inform her subjects and the father of the child.
Especially if it’s something you’re too shy or afraid to ask off-anon.
(Admin note: If you reblog this from someone, try to send them something, even if it’s just a basic question. The mun will really appreciate it.)
It had been a long day and he wasn’t quite sure why he felt so tired, it wasn’t like he had all of Relena’s engagements and meetings and paperwork to go through.
So he made his way to his and Relena’s bed chambers deciding it was late enough in the day maybe he could get away with a short nap. He didn’t have anything on his agenda till dinner later that night after all.
It was shortly after he entered the room he spotted Relena and his eyebrows furrowed as he watched her, bent over what looked like a chamber pot and that’s when he heard the sound of vomiting.
At first worry seeped in as he looked at the dark haired Queen until he realizes she hadn’t been eating quite the same at dinner as of late….no…if she was with child she would have told him when she was certain of it wouldn’t she?
“Relena? Are you…you okay?” He asked, waiting to see if she’d tell him what was really going on, assuming he had put the right puzzle pieces together and she was indeed carrying their child.
My muse just swallowed some poison, they will be dead in a matter of moments. If you have anything to tell them, without any consequences, then now is the time.
One of the things that really pisses me off is the way people think of villains. Yes, there are some villains who maybe are misunderstood, those who have motives to save others, but some are not. Some villains aren’t the good guys in disguise. Some villains are villains. There are bad people. They lie, they cheat, they murder, sometimes if only because it’s fun. If you play a villain, or an evil character, don’t ever censor your character, because if you do, you’re not playing that character, you’re playing a shell of them with their face.
