Tell them a secret that your muse never told anyone, tell them how yours feels about them, an opinion- whether it is about my muse, someone else’s muse, something unpopular, or anything else. Give them the local gossip, rant about a topic or a problem that needs some insight on. Tell them a story, a dream, a nightmare, complain about the weather. Just talk to them.
“There are some things I’d rather not let people know. Some things id rather keep to myself. I know you tend to let your emotions out, and that’s alright. Me? Not so much, ” Daenerys sighed, taking a small bite of the meat on her plate. “When I saw him, he couldn’t have been more than two. He was so happy and it just felt so real. I’d do anything to be able to birth a child, but I never will be able to. I sacrificed my only child, a son, to try and bring my husband back, but I just lost them both.” Being pulled from the sad memories, Daenerys loved up when Ser Jorah was mentioned. “No, he’s out in Meereen going about his business. If I ever need him, he’s only a call away, ” she nodded, smiling at his next question. “My handmaiden, Missandei, cooked this meal. She’s a wonderful cook.”
“You’re really going to listen to some old hag who told you that you were barren now? Come Dany you come from a very fertile line. Mother had what, three miscarriges and one still birth but she had Sheana who was stillborn shortly after birth, Daeron who live a half year, Aegon who was early but lived a year as well as Jaeherys who again lived a year. Not to mention us and Rhaegar. Granted the amount of death could be a sign of heavy relations between our parents and such or just after Rhaegar’s birth and what Father did to her between all those deaths…It couldn’t have been easy. I was small and frail as a babe and well..mother-” Viserys didn’t want to bring up that Daenerys had been the cause of their mothers demise. Not this time. “There’s still time for you to carry another babe. You are young and strong.”
Viserys ate the rest of his meal as he made more small talk with Dany, discussing Merreen and it’s people. “You have amassed quite the army, sister. It seems all you need now is an armada and you’ll be sailing off to Westeros like I always said we would. I’ll admit though the crown and tittle was passed to me, you have had much more experience already ruling than I. The people love you here…Though I cannot say Westeros will feel the same, not after I’ve realized Illyrio had been filling my head with pretty lies. The people were never crying for me to come back. Sure there may be Targayren loyalists but those are far and few in between. I wouldn’t mind being Prince of Dragonstone. You’re council and heir should you need it.” Viserys realized in the short time of being around her that she already had leadership skills and qualities he feared he still lacked.Â
It is perfectly acceptable to just write a starter for me at any time.
They were so different. He had a hard time keeping most of his emotions in while she held on to them tightly. “It’s okay to let them out. The memories…not all of them were bad, right?” He asked, still surprised at the softness in his voice, the tenderness he held in his heart for his sister. Viserys was still working on being a better, different person and while he wanted to shake her and tell her to just let everything out and stop hiding he knew just how destructive that could be in the end if one wasn’t careful.
“I know I would have. If he was anything like you were as a babe. Well..a toddler. Babies cry and whine too much.” He mused as he cautiously took another spoonful of soup. “Will Ser Jorah be joining us or-?” Viserys still was unsure of the mans whereabouts and he was secretly hoping he was gone. “I never quite liked him if I may be frank Daenerys. Never approved of his leering ways. Who cooked this meal by the way? It is delicious”
Daenerys smiled as he brother began to eat, beginning to eat herself. Missandei was always a wonderful cook. She could tell he hadn’t eaten in a long while, but she could tell that he didn’t want to be rude and scarf it all down at once, even though it was just the two of them. Her brother seemed happy. However, when Viserys mentioned the lack of Drogo’s appearance, her expression slowly faded and she stopped eating for the moment.
“Yes, Khal Drogo did…die, Viserys,” Daenerys finally said, her voice quiet. The room was so quiet that a pin could be heard dropping. “It was tragic. I wanted him back so badly. I had a witch try and bring him back with blood magic, but he was just in a vegetative state and I couldn’t let him suffer, so I-” Daenerys stopped herself short, not wanting to bring up that horrible night. It was as if she hadn’t heard the question about the baby because she didn’t answer that.
Viserys nearly dropped his spoon at his sisters words. He couldn’t quite believe it. Khal Drogo was indeed dead. She had involved a witch no less and Viserys had wished he had been there, maybe he would have tried to stop her from getting such a vile creatures help. “Blood magic” He nearly scoffed as the words came out, more disbelief than meaning to sound rude to her, he knew what that had meant and seeing as she was still here as were her dragons that must have meant she had unknowingly traded one life for another. He had heard tales of such things when Daenerys was younger and they wondered the streets. He too had almost dabbled in such things, if only to get Ser Darry back but the cost was not one he had been willing to pay.
“I’m sure he would have wanted that. I could not see Khal Drogo being okay with being..Nevermind.” He shook his head now torn between wanting to comfort her and atone for everything no matter how awkward it would be and scarfing down his food or taking it with him to leave her be
“Dany. I am so so sorry for the losses you’ve gone through…I-” He had
no words, all the words that wanted to come would be meaningless should
have and if i could haves. Words that couldn’t bring the dead back.
.
At this rate he felt he had soured the mood and had no way of getting it out of the low point. “You were alone…No brother or husband. Yet you prospered. Blossomed, look at you, just like your dragons. Fierce and capable of doing anything. I a truly sorry you had to go through that alone, Dany. I know you had Ser Jorah, which is some what of a comfort” Though at the mention of Jorah there was a tone of bitterness and hate. He never liked the way that man looked at Dany. He’d rather have the Khalassar have her than that old bear.
Daenerys let Viserys take all the time that he needed to bathe and freshen up. It was strange to see her brother after so many years of thinking that he was dead. She saw him die in front of him. The molten gold killed him. Her husband had killed her brother. Though she will always mourn for the loss of her husband and unborn son, she would not let that get in the way. She hasn’t told Viserys that Drogo was dead and she lost her baby from black magic trying to bring him back. She wouldn’t take about it unless it was brought up.
Daenerys was pulled from her thoughts when she saw Viserys walk into the dining area, greeting him with a soft smile. “They seemed to have cleaned you up well, Viserys,” she said. “Yes, the food tastes even better here in Meeren than it smells.”
He felt like he was a child again, being freshened and wearing his best attire to impress the wealthy statesman with a hope of a new future, a lavish meal placed before him. Only this time the statesman was his sister, the new ruler of Mereen and he himself no longer a child. Speaking of children…Viserys thought back to the day she announced she was carrying a child and that child would be what? nearing three or so if he did his arithmetic correctly.
“Will Khal Drogo and your child be joining us?” He asked before he took a spoonful of the soup, licking his lips as some of the liquid started to fall from the spoon. “I do wonder, how he feels about being here…you, his Khalessi being Queen here. Seems odd the wondering Khalassar would put roots down anywhere.” Perhaps she had managed to change the great Drogos mind, after all it seemed like he had softened towards the end of Viserys’s knowing of him. Maybe he decided ruling a place wouldn’t be so bad for his people. “Wait…”
That’s when it hit him. She had named her dragons after Rhaegar, himself and Drogo..she knew Rhaegar to be dead and thought him to be dead and if that was the case and pattern…”Dany. I–I am so sorry I didn’t know…I figured that-” Viserys stuttered at the realization that the Khal was most likely dead and he prayed that he was wrong, the Khal would show up, laughing at the Khal Raggat and kiss his wife before joining them for the meal. “My niece or nephew are they…?” He didn’t want to be too presumptuous after all but he felt like he needed to know.
