‘well, that did not go as planned’. Jory thought before he offered her a cloak. “You’ll get used to the cold in time my lady. I assure you”

She shook her head at him offering her his cloak. It wouldn’t do for them to both be cold, and she was certain she would never feel warm again, the chill had gone straight to her bones. 

“I feel as if you were trying to think of something to insult me back, but you didn’t really… would you like to try again? I have plenty of flaws you can pick on, I’m certain. “ she said, offering him a small, hesitant smile.

He nodded as she refused his cloak, not liking the idea, but he wouldn’t push it any further. “Um…” Jory blinked, stunned that she wanted him to try to offend her and he tried his best to muster some sort of insult. 

“You smell more of fish and wet dog then I expected….” Jory winced at his own words, finding them hard to say. “Was that better?” He asked, suddenly feeling like a child waiting for his father’s approval.
