I feel like Richard looks similar to Eddard but Francois looks similar to Robb while Eoin looks similar to actual Benjen minus the black hair
Link: Egyptian Mummy’s Symbolic Tattoos Are 1st of Their Kind
More
than 3,000 years ago, an ancient Egyptian woman tattooed her body with
dozens of symbols — including lotus blossoms, cows and divine eyes —
that may have been linked to her religious status or her ritual
practice.Preserved in amazing detail on her mummified torso, the surviving images represent the only known examples of tattoos found on Egyptian mummies showing recognizable pictures, rather than abstract designs.
The mummy was found at a site on the west bank of the Nile River known
as Deir el-Medina, a village dating to between 1550 B.C. and 1080 B.C.
that housed artisans and workers who built the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
Link: Greek Paganism legally recognized as ‘known religion’ in Greece
ATHENS, Greece – On April 9th, the Supreme Council of Ethnic Hellenes (YSEE), a religious organization working to restore the indigenous religion of Greece, put out a statement saying Greek polytheism has received legal status in Greece. Prior to this, Greek Pagans did not have religious freedoms such as the ability to buy land to create houses of worship nor could Pagan clergy perform marriage ceremonies.
Yesterday the Secretary of the Supreme council of Ethnic Hellenes (YSEE) announced that after more than twenty years of struggle, the Greek state has finally recognized the Hellenic Religion as a ‘Known Religion’ according to paragraph 17 – the only form of recognition for a religion in Greece. The mentioned paragraph includes the permission to build a temple as well as the right of public exercise of any recognized religion.

For any worshipers of Sobek!
Why would fish be taboo though? I thought that was only like a Wesir thing.
Well there goes the salmon dish I offered last week to him…
I really don’t think fish is taboo, he’s a crocodile and I’ve never heard of objections to pork or fish. I’ve heard objections to both with Wesir, but not Sobek.
this is why the discussion of taboos is so hard to really follow. Because taboos shifted location to location, era to era.
F’ex, “everyone” knows that you shouldn’t give fish to Osiris, yeah? Well if you look through O’Connor’s book on Abdyos (you know, the O HQ in Upper Egypt), he mentions that fish is on the offering lists for one of O’s festivals.
So yeah, taboos really are very much YMMV.
The post in the link mentions that some things are historical while others are UPG, so I think that needs to be kept in mind when looking through the page.
Link: Love of the gods.
“I’ve noticed huge diversity in how people describe their divine
relationships. There’s some who almost give off a sense of distrust for
the gods, as though They were so capricious that they might turn and
bite their devotees on a whim. There’s some who seem to have a very
casual relationship, coining cheeky nicknames and describing drinking
matches. There’s god-spousery, which I have such trouble grasping for
myself that I can only say “you do you” (and I mean that earnestly, not
dismissively). There’s the business relationships, where devotees give
offerings and are given heka in return. What I don’t see much is sacred love.“– The priesthood is not ever mentioned… ah well, we got the invisibility cloaks.
– Writing about intense devotional relationships is difficult, and not everyone who experiences the bhakti-feelings, would be always ready to share with people online.
– I’m a poet. I write devotional poetry. A lot. And a devotional anthology is just about to be announced…
– And I write about my personal feelings, when I feel that “the stars are right for this”. =)Sometimes I post about personal devotional path and feelings, but do not tag these for public kemetic tag. Because I’m not always comfortable with this,
because sometimes, “being deeply devoted” may offend someone’s feelings. Because sometimes, the KRT posts stating “priests are not needed” are like sharp splinters in the mind – so you find refuge in your deity sweet wings, and don’t feel a need to share all the feelings.
Only sometimes, some mead of poetry. But yeah, I shared many devotional poems before.
And I ususlly tag #devotional poetry
and #bhakti
and sometimes #on the waters of Khmun’s Lord
but not always share personal relationship things to public tags
