(( 1) This is Loki’s good arc, so he’s allowed friends. Meet fellow magic nerd, make friends, it’s not that hard, come on. Also this is how subversion of expectations works: Stephen had expectations about Loki (as a “threat to the world” and all that xD) and it’s way more fun to take the time to subvert them than just not having the both of them interact at all)
Also 2) one does not simply tease characters meeting for so long and then rush through that scene as fast as possible and not have them interact like at all (one of the major flaws of the movie was the lack of interaction between almost any characters except for them interacting with Thor) (this is also AGAIN related to the whole trailer lies bs (more about that later on))
3) The audience isn’t stupid, they’ll get it you don’t need to over-explain everything:
