“We cannot change the past and I will not linger in it’s foul depths for only madness lies there, Viserys,” Dany told him, tilting her head to press her temple to his cheek. “I want to know who you are now so let us start anew.”
“What kind of adjustments would you make?” He asked, now invested in hearing about her plans for new laws and a new way of life. “You do realize the people of Westeros will have a hard to adjusting to such vast differences. Changing slavery over night didn’t work out too well, due to the attempts on your life and rebellion, and it would be the same in Westeros.” He reminded his sister though he had an idea that she knew that would be the case. “some things will be easier to change quicker….and of course I’ll stand by your side. We’re all we have left of family, of each other. I mean for us to be together for as long as fate will allow it.” He told her, shocked that she would think that he didn’t think anything of her.
“You’ve proven yourself to be more than to be seen as just a woman, Daenerys.” He made it a point for her to know that he saw her differently and would treat her as such. “I spent so much time looking to the past while wishing for a future that would come…Wanting the past to be the future.” Viserys gave a deep sigh and leaned his head on hers for a moment. “I can’t promise you that I’m not the same person I was before we parted ways, I cannot promise that there won’t so rage creeping in from time to time…” He took his head away from hers and went round to look at her, squatting down so he was more level with her.
“After I heard news of your death….my rage was burning hot and Illyrio saw the brunt of it but after the initial rage my grief quelled the fire inside. The immense loneliness I felt made me spiral into self reflection and I realized how horrible I had been to you and it hurt to know that it had been, at the time to my knowledge…that your last moments would have been thoughts and memories of my cruelty.” He glanced down at his hands wringing them together as he spoke. “But what I can promise is that i’m trying. I’ve changed and maybe not one hundred percent and I trust you will call me out if my behavior is out of line.”
Viserys slowly stood to his full height and took some of the food and began to ate, tasting the deliciousness that had been provided and a smile came to his lips. “Even illyrio couldn’t provide such lush fruits. It’s a shame we’ll have to leave this place so-” He was interrupted by one of Daenerys’s handmaidens who had walked in the room, informing her that Viserys’s room was ready. “Oh wonderful, that was fast!”
