avatar anthology series where each season follows a different avatar/historical event/period/anything
season 1: yangchen
- i feel like this would be a good start because she’s familiar but has a completely open history to explore
season 2: wan
- we never actually saw him as the full avatar except for a 30 second montage, so that would be the focus here
- his first years as the actual avatar, with people keeping bending permanently and leaving the lion turtles
- also leftover spirits causing havoc and whatnot
season 3: the golden age of republic city
- the gaang’s kids growing up in republic city
- mainly following bumi, kya, tenzin, lin, su, and sokka and suki’s kids, as well as their non-gaang-kid friends
- sokka is a councilman, toph is police chief, etc. and we’d find out exactly what aang, katara, and suki were doing! i think we’d also check in with zuko and his family in the fire nation but that wouldn’t be the focus
- this would be a few years after yakone
season 4: the water tribe schism
- how the southern water tribe split off from the north
- i could see it being like a very emotional story following one of the groups as they make their way south across the earth, covering the months/years of the journey
- basically starting in the north with the conflict that leads them to split, the body of the season is them journeying south, the finale is them getting to their new home and founding the southern water tribe
- i feel like the avatar in this time period would only make a cameo
season 5: kyoshi
- i just feel like this season would exist just because people would be begging for it from the moment the show was announced lol
- anything but chin the conqueror please. show us her girlfriend
season 6: the history of the fire nation
- an anthology within an anthology. each episode covers a period/dynasty, from the founding of the fire nation up to the present
- there could be a framing device with izumi’s alleged daughter who totally exists learning all this in school or whatever
more??? what would you guys wanna see? the possibilities are endless
more ideas
- a tropical water avatar from islands in the ocean on the other side of the earth, inspired by polynesia
- a sandbender earth avatar, drawing from western asia and how the silk road connected it and china
- a fire avatar whose main villain is a combustion firebender and we find out wtf they are omg
- an air avatar born to less religious parents who are actually bison-herding nomads and didn’t give their child up to the temples. inspired by non-monastic tibet
