“I can see that,” Brienne said irritably. “I am glad of it.” She was, but what she needed was new information. She tried to sit up, to take some of her weight off of Bronn, but she ended up slumping against him again, breathing heavily. Everything was distant, and it was hard to concentrate. “But Arya lives too?” That was what he said, wasn’t it? But Daenerys had died. That surprised her, but she had never had a strong opinion of the woman one way or the other. Brienne would mourn the dead, but as long as those closest to her were alive she could bear it.
“I see…” She took a deep breath, straightened up, and extended her hand “Here, help me up, if you would be so good. I… I will find Jaime.” It would be a slow journey to be sure, but if he was alive he could meet her halfway. “And Pod. What of Pod? He’s my squire, I need to find him.”
“I think so yes. That she-wolf would be hard to kill if she isn’t.” Bronn said as he tried to grit the pain as she slumped against him, his sides still aching from the fight. “You’re leaning on me alrigh” Bronn stated as he took the womans hand in his and helped her up, one arm already wrapping itself around her to help support her so she could walk.
”That prick better still be alive, you know he and his brother still owe me a castle” Bronn tried to joke, his chuckle turning to pained coughs, his head lowered and eyes winced as he tried to regain his composure. “Podrick? Haven’t seen em. Could be dead…could be alive.” Bronn shrugged as they walked, making their way towards where the camp should have been, if it was still there at this point.
