Ma’at itself enbodies the principles of truth and justice. For the individual following the path of Ancient Egyptian spirituality honesty and integrity are essential. In all of one’s actions these qualities most always be upheld. This is also true when evaluating yourself. Self-delusion and ego-centered thinking quickly bring about a state of imbalance in oneself. If left unchecked they can cause some of the more destructive human emotions to emerge. Jealousy, greed, domination, prejudice, cruelty and more can usually be traced back to the imbalanced state created by the over-sized, self-deluded ego.
