Man who whines about video games for a living claims that actor leaving comedy show that’s been mediocre for decades is a victim of people who whine because he loves racism. More at 11.
He’s right though. Where do they stop? I get the whole Simpsons hasn’t been funny in “x” years bit but, do they get rid of Groundskeeper Willie because he offends Scotts and the voice actor is Italian in ancestry? What about the disrespectful way Cletus and his family are used to stereotype Southerners? The show is filled with these types of stereotypes.
Are you going to go one by one remove each offensive thing that someone gets their feelings hurt about? Where does it stop?
The show uses stereotypes of everything, Homer is the idiot lazy fat dad, Marge is the overprotective house mom, Lisa is the child prodigy who annoys everyone, Bart is the trouble maker, Abe is the grandpa no one wants to visit, Burns is the Money hungry cruel billionaire, Krusty is the washed up Jewish performer, I can go on.
The show uses stereotypes for comedic value, even poking fun at the fact they use stereotypes from time to time, Jon is correct, Political Correctness is the death of Comedy and many things we enjoy.
“All humor is critical. If we start saying, “oh, we mustn’t criticize or offend them,” then humor is gone, and with humor goes a sense of proportion, and then, as far as I’m concerned, you’re living in 1984.“ – John Cleese
Humor is a great unifier, it brings people together, the Simpsons is a great example of this, it makes fun of everything and everyone, it chooses to do so because no one is off limits, as soon as you say someone can’t be made fun of then you have created a protected class that must be made fun of.
Also, the man criticizes Video Games for a living, he actually had good criticism of said Games as well, but he doesn’t tell people they shouldn’t be allowed to make Video Games of a certain nature because they offend him, but nice way of being disingenuous OP.
Another thing, Jon isn’t a racist, he is a Comedian who doesn’t allow your sensibilities define what he can and cannot say.
