RPC Positivity Week – DAY 03: favorite portrayals of a minor / underappreciated character in a fandom

@theeldestsun (Doran Martell) – Although we haven’t interacted yet, I’ve been admiring this beautiful blog from afar. I love their commitment to this character and all the thoughtful headcanons they have come up with.

@notenoughmuses (Jory Cassel) – Victoria’s Jory is so perfect. He was taken from us too soon by GRRM, but the mun has lovingly filled in the gaps with her astute portrayal of this underappreciated character. She writes him with the perfect ‘boy next door’ vibe, with an ever present attitude of ‘aw shucks’ which is exactly how I would have imagined Jory.

@gennalannisterfrey (Genna Lannister) – Genna Lannister has some of the greatest lines in ASOIAF; she is definitely a formidable old dame in the same realm as Barbrey Dustin and Olenna Tyrell IMO. This mun does an amazing job capturing the larger than life personality of Genna. She has a sharp tongue, dangerous wit but still manages to be a mother hen to younger Lannister generation.

@snowingwillow (Ilyn Payne) – Gabby has brought new life to Ilyn Payne, a character that very few people would ever consider RPing. She has explored his back story and his staunch loyalty to Tywin Lannister and made him almost deserving of our sympathy. Of course, all of his detestable characteristics are there too, but all of a sudden he has meaningful motives and reasons for being who he is.

@oerhishall (Ser Alliser, Qyburn, Vargo Hoat, Karl Tanner) – Sonny loves to write muses that the rest of us love to hate. I love how they delve into these repulsive characters and find out what makes them tick, what causes them pain, what brings them joy. The mun breathes life into these characters in a way that I think GRRM was not capable of! I totally blame Sonny for Meryll’s crush on Qyburn.
