It’s okay to doubt.
Be gentle on those who are going through doubt.
Belief is hard. It isn’t easy for everyone, and it isn’t easy at all times. There are times in your life when you feel alone. When you can’t understand why something happened. When you experience something which shakes your entire system of belief. I wish I could tell you there’s an easy way to regain faith or to get rid of doubt. I wish I could tell you to go feel the sun on your face and remember the love of your deities, but it’s not always that easy.
Firstly, be gentle with others who go through times of doubt, because it’s not an easy thing, they need your understanding. And one day you may need the same.
Next, look back to what sparked your faith in the first place. Were you raised in it, never questioning your belief before? Did something happen to make you believe? Looking back to what started your belief can help you regain it.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. A thing which can stand up to scrutiny is stronger for it. Asking questions of your faith can strengthen your belief and deepen your spiritual ties.
Be your own tool for restoring your faith. If you need to believe in people doing good acts for their faith, then do those good acts. If you need to experience the beauty of nature to believe this isn’t all meaningless, then go find that beauty. If you need guidance, seek it out. Do not wait for someone else to restore your faith.
Give thanks where you see an opportunity for it. Thank your deities for the motivation to help someone, for the beauty of a sunrise, for reading in the paper that a lost child got home safe.
