He clearly
was in love with senator Amidala. He knew he had no chance, so instead he
devoted his life to protecting her.
As a head
of senator Amidala’s security, he must have known about her marriage to Anakin
Skywalker. There is no way Skywalker could have sneaked into the senator’s
apartment without Typho knowing about it.
Typho must
have disliked General Skywalker, not because he was jealous, but because he occasionally
saw senator Amidala crying because of Skywalker. He probably swore to himself
that if this Skywalker ever laid a finger on senator, he would kill him on the
spot.
When
senator Amidala died, Typho blamed himself for letting her travel to Mustafar
alone. In the Coruscant Nights trilogy he launched an investigation over hear
death and eventually came to a conclusion that both senator Amidala and General
Skywalker were killed by Darth Vader, for Skywalker mysteriously disappeared.
He hunted Vader down, but Vader easily defeated him. As he was laying dying, he
accused Vader of killing senator Amidala, which shattered Vader to the core,
because he is Anakin.
But Typho
never knew this terrible truth, that senator Amidala was killed by her own
husband. And thanks Force he didn’t.
