This scene is so important. In the first gif, we show that Mimi’s priority isn’t to fight Ogremon right away, but to protect and save one of her friends – at all costs. She runs and she grabs Meiko as fast as she can and hide with her to be sure she’s safe. Palmon asks if Mimi is going to fight Ogremon, which would be odd considering what happened in 01. And a lot of people said she was out of character because of so, but most of these comments happened before Ketsui was even out – which is ridiculous. As we can see here, Mimi has no intention to fight Ogremon, afterall they do have some sort of connection, but she wishes to save people, and thus feels the need to put Ogremon back into the distortion so he doesn’t hurt anyone. When she finally rushes to Ogremon, she apologizes, promissing she won’t hurt him.
