In #27 The Exposed I think the Drode captured the Animorphs’ characters pretty well. (And in fact, Rachel recognized that as well by telling “This thing knew us.All about us. Who we were, what we were.”) I’d love to read a series of drabbles with these little portrayals.
Jake, the reluctant leader. Jake, the oh-so-tiresomely decent one. A sanctimonious killer: my least favorite kind.
Cassie, the hypocrite? ‘I don’t believe in violence … except when I do.‘
Marco the funny one.
Aximili, the pitiful, pale shadow of his dead brother.
Tobias, the boy not really so trapped as a bird, but too gutless to resume life as a human.
And Rachel. My very favorite Animorph.
He flays everyone and completely misses the mark with Marco and I think that’s what makes Marco the most dangerous because even the Drode/Crayak only saw exactly what Marco wanted them to see.
