My religion can be full of jokes and modern trends and joys,
but it’s what keeps me happy at night
It’s what helps me to sleep knowing that…
my gods are just a shout, a whisper, a sigh away
I can make them smile with offerings of alcohol on my best days
and the salty tears of pain on my worst
They can look at me with love, with joy, with sorrow, with kindness
My religion may seem to be a joke some days.
but some days, a laugh is exactly what keeps me going
